Mercatus is an elite manufacturer of refrigerated food-service equipment, forecasting 10,000 unit sales globally. Monitoring each machine in real time is critical for its customers’ food safety and for optimal product operation.

Flipkick designed and shipped an AWS cloud infrastructure for the reception, treatment and visualisation of the data sent by every unit sold: global rollout, centralised tracking and diagnostics anywhere in the world, with automated alerts whenever a machine needs action.
Access is segmented in three levels (Mercatus, distributors and end users), encrypted at every level. Communication is resilient: even with units temporarily offline, data syncs when the connection returns, and the database scales to a virtually unlimited number of messages and devices.
We needed a tool that enabled us to collect and manage equipment usage information to assist in the evolution of products and services. Our goal was to improve customer support by allowing remote analysis and configuration of our devices. Our IoT dashboard does just that and was ready in less than one month.
